Chevrolet has a great lineup of trucks for the 2012 season!”

I know I’m jumping ahead of the ball games, but here in Nebraska I’m prepping five months in advance for Husker football games and Chevrolet has a great lineup of trucks for the 2012 season to satisfy any position from the quarter back and center to the tight end. Regardless of the job, Silverado is the truck to haul to heaviest load and work the toughest jobs and if you are looking to buy a new truck, the Chevrolet Silverado should be at the top of your list. I’m going to give you the short version of what each truck can accomplish and leave you to experience it for yourself when you test drive one.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the quarter-back of our team. It has the horsepower, but it’s smaller compared to its teammates, the Chevy 2500HD and the Chevy 3500HD. The Silverado 1500 claims a max towing of 10,700 and when it comes to the payload the crew cab owns 1,937 lbs. while the extended cab boasts 1,903 lbs. So as the little guy, it can tackle some heavy loads. A standard 4.8L V8 engine has 302 horsepower. The available Vortec 5.3L V8 provides a dual threat with 315 horsepower and 335 lbs.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L V8 package generates 403 horsepower and 417 lbs.-ft. of torque.

When you purchase a 2012 Nissan Maxima, your neighbors will be jealous and so will your passengers; until they settle into their own seats………..then they will just be asking where they can buy one too!

What is on your check list when purchasing a new vehicle? The options to select from? The technology invested in the engine? The price between a new vehicle and a used vehicle? All of these are important items and anyone that is shopping for a new vehicle should have a checklist to work from. Let me introduce you to the new Nissan Altima:

The checklist for this vehicle is extensive and covers everything that matters. Let’s look under the hood first. You have two options. A 4 cylinder, 175 hp or a V6, 270 hp engine. Both engines give you impressive gas mileage and in today’s economy and environmentally friendly world, both are important.

The 2012 Nissan Juke, it looks like a 2-door coupe but has the functionality of a 4-door.

When the Nissan Juke was revealed, people couldn’t help but talk. It’ll make you look twice with its unique design, a sculpted hood and twin front lights inspired by rally cars, giving the Juke eyes after dark. With the best of both worlds, the Juke offers the look of a 2-door sport car and the functionality of 4-door. Rear door handles are subtly worked into the design keeping them out of sight and creating the sports-coupe sleekness. a subcompact hatchback that stands out in a segment where that’s not easily done.

Red Nissan Juke

Under the tough skin, the 2012 Nissan Juke holds some surprising cards. A small 1.6L four-cylinder engine is standard, but thanks to turbocharging and direct injection it cranks out 188hp. Connected to a manual transmission or an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT), the four-cylinder turbo makes the Juke one of the quickest, small cars around while being a gas conservative. The Juke boasts a sport-tuned suspension, quick steering and an available torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system that combine to provide entertaining handling.

The underlying structure is related to Nissan’s other small cars. Plus, plenty of high-end features such as standard Bluetooth and iPod integration and available keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, heated seats, a navigation system and a back-up camera. It is available with instrument display similar to the Nissan GT-R; it lets you adjust the calibration of throttle action, steering assist and transmission shift schedule as well as seeing various readouts like turbo boost or lateral g.

Nissan Juke Interior 2012 Nissan Juke Console

A front-wheel-drive Juke with the CVT went from zero to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, and impressively quick time for this class of car. The Juke’s EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings range from 24-27 mpg city and 30-32 mpg highway depending on the drivetrain.

Young drivers and the young at heart should find a lot of likable qualities in the 2012 Nissan Juke. Compared to other small hatchbacks, it offers considerably higher fun factor.

Nissan Juke S Base White Nissan Juke SV

The four-door hatchback is available in three trim levels: base S, the well-equipped SV and the leather-lined SL. Standard equipment includes 17” alloy wheels, full power accessories, cruise control, keyless entry, air-conditioning, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a tilt steering wheel, a trip computer, Bluetooth connectivity and a six-speaker stereo and CD player, iPod integration, an auxiliary audio jack and steering-wheel-mounted controls.

For some the 2012 Nissan Juke appearances may not be a perfect fit but it does own the market among the young at heart and definitely its qualities will grow on you given the chance.

Hybrid! When the Chevrolet Volt debuted last year, most thought the new Chevy was all electric.

The Volt is essentially a plug-in hybrid, meaning it has the ability to run much faster and farther with just electric power than a normal hybrid. In the Chevy Volt’s case, this means up to 100 mph and 25-50 driven miles without using a drop of gasoline.

New Chevrolet Volt Hybrid

Once the Volt runs out of battery power, the gasoline-powered inline-4 engine kicks in, producing electricity for the motor and actually powering the wheels in some circumstances, stretching the Volt’s range to an additional 300 miles. The Volt is said to be the most advanced hybrid to date and possibly the most fuel-efficient car available. We use the word “possibly” loosely because the Volt’s fuel economy can’t be measured in an conventional way. It all depends on how it is driven.

If you’re looking at a 30-mile round-trip commute and you plug in the Volt every night when you get home (a full charge requires as few as 3 hours), give yourself a pat on the back. Your fuel economy would be infinite because you’d always be running off battery power and therefore never using your gas supply.

Volt Production Interior ChevroletChevy Volt Hybrid Interior Images

Now consider a 60-mile round trip commute. In this case you’d be using gasoline for driving about 30 miles each day, which means fueling regularly; averaging the Volt at 31.4 mpg in mixed driving. How far you routinely drive would be a large factor in determining how economical the Volt would be to you. Potential owners will likely be able to take advantage of the Volt’s electrical range and electric costs for recharging are a fraction for the equivalent amount of gasoline.

The 2012 Chevrolet Volt represents an agreeable middle ground between a pure electric vehicle—usually limited to about 75 miles before a time-consuming recharge—and a standard hybrid—not offering the all-electric range and speed of the Volt.

Powertrains and Performance

The front wheel drive 2012 Volt is primary powered by an electric motor related at 149 hp—111 kilowatts—and 273 lb/ft of torque. The motor draws power from a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack until 20% of the battery power remains. At that point, the Volt’s 1.4L 4 cylinder internal combustion engine, requiring premium fuel, comes to life as a replacement power source for the electric motor.

The battery can be completely recharged through either a 120- or 240-volt outlet, but regenerative braking and the engine generator can replenish it slightly.

New Chevy VoltFrame Structure - Chevy volt

Arguable the most fuel-efficient car on the market, the 2012 Chevy Volt holds a low monthly fuel cost in normal driving with 95 city/93 hwy mpg. A useful 300-mile maximum range, appealing standard features and excellent crash test scores make the Volt a great car for cosmopolitan driving and short trips to the grocery store and bank. The 2012 Chevrolet Volt has great possibility and can take you far.

2012 will see a Camaro  from Chevrolet that will be on the streets and the tracks…
The Camaro ZL1

It came to pass when engineers dreamed the impossible and made it reality. The 2012 Camaro ZL1 is the highest-performing production Camaro of all time. It’s like nothing ever driven before, built track-capable right from the showroom, and has been tested on some of the most rigorous tracks worldwide, including the Nurburgring, where it clocked in at 7:41:23. This is the baby every engineer dreams of building. Every racer dreams about tearing up the track with. And every owner dreams to own—a sports car that looks mean, but is still comfortable and docile enough for everyday, street driving.

2012 Camaro ZL1

In 1969, the regular-production Camaro was installed with the ZL1 all-aluminum racing engine. In that moment, history defined itself and those mythical 69 cars became the pinnacle in today’s Camaro performance.

"At every stage of development we wanted things that improved performance and looked the part. This car brings the latest and greatest of everything, all proven on the most demanding tracks around the world,” Tony Roma, ZL1 Program Engineering Manager. The ZL1 was designed to be driven exactly like it should be—hard! What makes it so great? Chevrolet added fuel pick-up to maximize the amount of fuel available even under high g cornering on the most aggressive tracks. The dual-mode exhaust enables peak performance at high engine speeds, and has been engineered to create an aggressive sound at idle without overwhelming when cruising at steady speeds.

ZL1 Wheels

This beauty is made of a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine with 580-horsepower, 556 lb-ft of torque and can be mated to a Tremec® 6-speed manual or a HydraMatic®6L90 automatic transmission. The aluminum-block engine is based on GM’s legendary small block V8 architecture and features an intercooled supercharge system and premium heat-resistant aluminum alloy cylinder heads. The uniquely designed 6th generation intercooled 1.9L Eaton® supercharger gives the ZL1 additional thrust and more force. The 4-lobed supercharger enables a broad range of power through the rpm band, giving the engine great low-end torque and excellent horsepower at the range where a supercharger usually loses its effectiveness.

It’s the most advanced Camaro ever, with every piece of the ZL1 supporting and optimizing every single horse in this machine’s command Brembo® brakes help provide and exceptional 60-0 stopping distance. For ZL1, the goal was to create handling and control not just for street use, but to enhance acceleration performance under all racetrack conditions. The electromechanically powered steering system in ZL1 is specifically engineered for lower inertia and friction, resulting in more direct steering feel and superior response.

Chevy Camaro ZL1 Seats

Chevy didn’t skimp out on the detailing of this racer. Engineers put mind, body and soul into the building of the 2012 Camaro ZL1 and they are proud of their accomplishments. The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be released in Spring 2012 with a convertible—that rates second to the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible—debuting in 2013. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to own and drive one of hottest sports car on the market today.

2011 Chrysler Town & Country

The 2011 Chrysler Town and Country (T&C) is not the same minivan it was in 2010. With a restyled exterior, a greatly improved cabin, an all-new 3.6L V6 engine and a re-tuned suspension this minivan spells luxury. Though minivans have long been among the most utilitarian vehicles out there, the creators at Chrysler decided there’s room at the top of this segment for decidedly more upscale version that combined luxury car amentities with the minivan’s many practical benefits.

2011 Chrysler T&C Interior

The Chrysler Town & Country has long appealed to families, large and small, as well those with empty-nests who seek a practical vehicle with a touch of luxury inside and out. To achieve that goal, Chrysler started with a subtle exterior makeover. The biggest change to the substantially revised Town & Country  was the inside. The outgoing model’s low-budget passenger cabin has been replace with an elegant new design and upgraded materials that both look and feel noticeably richer.

 2011 Chrysler Town and Country

Less apparent, though no less important, are the mechanical changes lurking beneath the updated sheet metal. The combination of an all-new 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine and a nicely re-calibrated suspension make driving the new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country a much more enjoyable experience.

2011 Chrysler T & C

“We present to you…the Motor Trend Car of the Year…the 2011/2012 Chevrolet Volt,”  Sid Dillon.  It’s more car than electric, it’s the present future, it’s a Chevy. The annual Motor Trend car of the Year award is one of the most prestigious honors bestowed in the auto industry. Making the Chevy Volt not only electric, but prestigious. Powered by electricity, but without the confines electrical outlets, the Volt does everything a great car does, if not better.

Now, there’s probably a nagging question running through your mind. “Eventually, power runs out, and then I’ll be stranded. What then?” What then, you ask.  Then Volt will run on the fuel. Whether you’re going to the farmer’s market down the street or on a road trip, the Chevy Volt will take you wherever you need to go. Powered primarily by electric charge, it wil switch seamlessly to a gas-powered onboard generator for extented range.

EXTERIOR: Thoughtful Efficiency

By its very nature, Volt is engineered to change the face of transportation as we know it. Nearly every component of Volt has been selected to get the most out of every charge.

  • Aerodynamics that maximize the distance per charge and miles per gallon of fuel
  • A closed grille and aerodynamic back edges that contribute to its fuel efficiency
  • Energy-efficient Bose Sound System
  • Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires

INTERIOR: Dashboard-Reimagined

The Chevy Volt has two LCD screens that displa speed, battery power, range to recharge or re-fill as well as an efficiency gauge that gives you real-time feedback.

PERFORMANCE: Power from an Exceptional Battery

The Volt battery has gone through numerous environment-specific tests, including corrosion and hot/cold-weather testing and the results were so promising that the 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack is backed by and 100,00 mile/8-year limited warranty.

SAFETY: Making the Futuer Safer

If you think because Chevy put all this work into making the car economy friendly and skimped on the safety, then you’re wrong. Because Volt drivers and passengers will be concooned with standard safety. With eight air-bags ready to deploy in an emergency, is’s obvious that safety is of the highest importance.  Included with this built-in safety is an unprecedented five-year subscription to OnStar. In the event of a collision built-in sensors automatically alert an OnStar Advisor, who is immediately connected into your vehicle to see if you need help sent to your exact location – even if you can’t respond.

Technology: Pick your Mode

The Volt has been programmed with three unique driving modes to accommodat different driving styles. Normal: most efficient, taking the electricity and focusing it on operating the electric drive. Sport: sacrifices a small amount of efficiency for a more responsive acceleration. Mountain: assures that the battery has a bigger energy reserve for driving up long, steep inclines.

ACCOLADES: There’s Nothing Like Changing Everything

Not only was the Volt awarded the Motor Trend Car of the Year, it was also awarded the all-new Chevrolet Volt its Green Car of the Year award, the first electric car to ever win the award.

The Volt runs on electricity for an intial range of 35 miles on a single charge, before a gas generator created electricity for up to 340 additional miles on a full tank of gas. The Chevy Volt plug-in hybrd is arguably the most fuel-efficient car on the market.

However, you make being thinking you don’t want to buy a vehicle for a few thousand less than 40 grand.  The next best fuel-efficient Chevy vehicle, with cheaper price tag, is the the 2012 Chevy Cruze, with close to 40 miles to the gallon on the highway and 25 in the city.
