“Chevrolet has a great lineup of trucks for the 2012 season!”
I know I’m jumping ahead of the ball games, but here in Nebraska I’m prepping five months in advance for Husker football games and Chevrolet has a great lineup of trucks for the 2012 season to satisfy any position from the quarter back and center to the tight end. Regardless of the job, Silverado is the truck to haul to heaviest load and work the toughest jobs and if you are looking to buy a new truck, the Chevrolet Silverado should be at the top of your list. I’m going to give you the short version of what each truck can accomplish and leave you to experience it for yourself when you test drive one.
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the quarter-back of our team. It has the horsepower, but it’s smaller compared to its teammates, the Chevy 2500HD and the Chevy 3500HD. The Silverado 1500 claims a max towing of 10,700 and when it comes to the payload the crew cab owns 1,937 lbs. while the extended cab boasts 1,903 lbs. So as the little guy, it can tackle some heavy loads. A standard 4.8L V8 engine has 302 horsepower. The available Vortec 5.3L V8 provides a dual threat with 315 horsepower and 335 lbs.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L V8 package generates 403 horsepower and 417 lbs.-ft. of torque.

Whether it’s flying solo or excavation equipment, the Silverado 2500HD is there to get the job done for you. A MAX towing of 17,800 lbs. and a max payload of 4,212 lbs. the word “can’t” doesn’t exist is the 2500HD’s vocabulary. The Vortec 6.0L V8 engine, can operate on E85, a blend of 85% Ethanol and 15% gasoline. The Duramax® 6.6L ad the Allison transmission boasts a 36 gallon tank and offers up to 680 highway miles on a single tank running diesel.

“The Duramax® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel works with the Allison transmission to give you the largest power for your toughest job!”
We’re to the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD and when I compare it to football I think of the center. It’s big and bad rolled into one for a menace of power and stamina. The Silverado 3500HD is the Captain America of the truck world. You’re looking at MAX towing of 23,000 lbs. and a payload of 7,125 lbs. With the same set-up as our tight end, the Silverado 2500HD, the 3500HD exults a 36 gallon tank. And the Duramax® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel works with the Allison transmission to give you the largest power for your toughest job.
